Coffee-induced hallucinations? Caffeinated coeds hear voices, study says: Scientific American Blog

コーヒーの影響で幻覚(hallucination)が？・・・という短いレポート。
コーヒー呑みとしては気になるところ。幻覚を見た記憶はないよな～と思いつつ、読んでみる。

大学生を調査したところ、コーヒーをがぶのみ(chugging)すると（1日7杯以上）、ときどき幻聴が聞こえるとの回答があったそうだ。（7杯・・・越えることもあるなぁ）

ただし、219人の学生（共学校の生徒=coed）を対象とした調査では、カフェインが幻覚を引き起こしたとは結論づけられない、とか。他のストレスなんかが要因かも。

とにかく、幻覚というのは、ストレスに対する身体反応の一部なので、いろいろな要因が幻覚に関わっているにしろ、カフェインは、身体のストレスへの反応とも関係していることだし、これから調査していく意味がある・・・のだそうだ。

要は、まだわかっていないことが多いと。でも、量はすこし気をつけておいたほうがよいかな？

なぜ「へぎょる」？――滋賀県の一部で「へぎょった」（失敗した、形などがぐちゃぐちゃになった、という感じの意味）という表現が局所的に使われている（らしい）。が、この表現、そういえば使う人を一人しか知らない。というわけで、「へぎょった」と「へぎょる」をググってみた次第。
