International flights

Yes, things have changed since 911...

じゃれマガ 2011年09月20日号
Traveling to and from the U.S. has become difficult since 9/11.
There are many checkpoints at the airports.
You can't take any liquid on the plane in your hand luggage.
One of my students bought a snowglobe.
It is a glass ball full of liquid.
When you shake it, it looks like it's snowing.
She put the snowglobe in her hand luggage, but they wouldn't let her
take it on the plane.
She had to leave it at the airport.
Poor girl!

BBC News - Explosion at French nuclear site of Marcoule

BBC News - Explosion at French nuclear site of Marcoule:

Watching the news on TV, I thought "OMG, I'm going to Belgium tomorrow!" But the accident happend in Marcoule, located at the south end of France, and Belgium is north from France. Also there has been no leak (so far), according to news sources.

So I don't think I have to worry too much about the accident.
